TRIVAC D 4 B – compact two-stage rotary vane pump

The Leybold TRIVAC D 4 B is a two-stage, oil-sealed rotary vane vacuum pump with a pumping speed of 4.2 m³/h at 50 Hz and 5 m³/h at 60 Hz (nominal pumping speed 4.8 m³/h). Without gas ballast it reaches an ultimate total pressure of ≤ 2 × 10⁻³ mbar. As typical applications of the TRIVAC B series, Leybold names, among others, research and development, chemical and research laboratories, analytical instruments, leak detectors, medical technology and sterilisation, and use as a backing pump in high vacuum pump systems.

Design and function

The pump body of the TRIVAC D 4 B is built from individual, pinned parts without sealing components, which makes dismantling and reassembly easier. The built-in oil pump lubricates the pump independently of pressure and allows continuous operation up to an inlet pressure of 1000 mbar. The anti-suckback valve, which is controlled via the oil pressure, prevents oil from flowing back into the vacuum chamber when the pump is switched off. With gas ballast, the water vapour tolerance is 30 mbar and the water vapour capacity 95 g/h (50 Hz) / 110 g/h (60 Hz). The intake and exhaust ports are DN 16 ISO-KF, the oil filling is 0.3 / 0.8 l, the noise level 50 / 52 dB(A) (without / with gas ballast).

Variants of the TRIVAC D 4 B

The TRIVAC D 4 B is available from Ehrler & Beck in three variants (part numbers 11245, 11246, 140081). The rated motor power ranges from 0.37 to 0.57 kW (50 Hz), the weight from 18.7 to 24.5 kg.
