TRIVAC D 16 B – the versatile size of the TRIVAC B

The Leybold TRIVAC D 16 B delivers 16.5 m³/h at 50 Hz and 19.8 m³/h at 60 Hz (nominal pumping speed 18.9 m³/h) with an ultimate total pressure of ≤ 2 × 10⁻³ mbar without gas ballast. For the TRIVAC B series, Leybold names, among others, research and development, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, metallurgy and furnaces, the automotive industry, refrigeration and air conditioning, analytical instruments, freeze drying and fore vacuum for high vacuum pump systems as fields of application.

Design and function

From size D 16 B upwards, the TRIVAC B pumps have integrated cooling with a cooling channel and an additional, motor-driven fan for a constant operating temperature. The built-in oil pump lubricates independently of pressure and enables continuous operation up to an inlet pressure of 1000 mbar; the oil-pressure-controlled anti-suckback valve prevents oil from flowing back. Water vapour tolerance 25 mbar, water vapour capacity 305 g/h (50 Hz) / 370 g/h (60 Hz), oil filling 0.45 / 1.0 l, noise level 54 / 56 dB(A) (without / with gas ballast).

Special versions

The TRIVAC D 16 B-DOT works with brake fluid (DOT 4) as sealant and lubricant and is fitted with EPDM seals for this purpose; apart from the seals and the operating fluid it is identical to the TRIVAC D 16 B and, according to Leybold, is used for filling brake circuits in the automotive industry (ultimate pressure without gas ballast < 6 × 10⁻¹ mbar). The version with ester oil LEYBONOL LVO 210 is intended for applications with refrigeration oils.

Variants of the TRIVAC D 16 B

The TRIVAC D 16 B is available from Ehrler & Beck in six variants (part numbers 11266, 11325, 15130016V01CZO, 11333, 11406, 11410). The rated motor power ranges from 0.75 to 0.9 kW (50 Hz), the weight from 28 to 43.6 kg.
