Atlas Copco GHS 3800 VSD+ – one pump instead of many individual pumps

The GHS 3800 VSD+ reaches a nominal displacement of 3724 m³/h and an ultimate pressure of 0.35 mbar(a). Rated motor power 55 kW, frequency range 25–97 Hz (750–2900 rpm at the motor shaft). All three sizes are built into the same housing measuring 2850 × 1939 × 1893 mm (L × W × H); net weight of the European version according to the data sheet 3030–3040 kg, of the US version 3855–3955 kg. Gas inlet DN 200, gas outlet DN 150.

Central instead of distributed

According to Atlas Copco, the GHS 3800–5400 VSD+ is the right solution when vacuum pumps at several points of use are to be replaced by a central vacuum system in a utility room. In this way heat, noise and oil emissions can be kept out of the working environment.

Applications of the range

Atlas Copco lists applications in the fields of canning, glass bottle and container manufacturing, packaging and pick-and-place.

Variants of the GHS 3800 VSD+

The GHS 3800 VSD+ is listed in nine variants. They differ in the following features:

• Cooling: air cooling or water cooling
• Oil: mineral oil or synthetic oil
• HEX@ controller with HMI; Atlas Copco phased out the versions with Elektronikon Mk5 in 2023
• European version (CE, IE5 motor) in seven variants or US version (UL), air-cooled or water-cooled
• Version with energy recovery (air-cooled, synthetic oil)
• Version for high air humidity (air-cooled or water-cooled, synthetic oil)

All variants are designed for 3Ph 380-460 V 50/60 Hz.
