Atlas Copco GHS 3400 VSD+ – 3268 m³/h with IE5 drive

According to the data sheet, the GHS 3400 VSD+ delivers a nominal displacement of 3268 m³/h with an ultimate pressure of 0.35 mbar(a). Rated motor power 55 kW, frequency range 37–242 Hz (750–4730 rpm according to the data sheet). Dimensions 1800 × 1938 × 1893 mm (L × W × H), weight according to the operating instructions 2064 kg air-cooled or 1971 kg water-cooled, gas inlet DN 200, gas outlet DN 150.

Clean exhaust air, stable control

According to Atlas Copco, a redesigned oil separator vessel limits the oil carry-over to at most 1.5 mg/m³. A pneumatic inlet control valve provides fast, stable vacuum control and, according to the brochure, is of fail-safe design (“Fail Safe”).

Applications of the range

Atlas Copco lists holding, lifting, conveying and transport applications (pick-and-place, envelope and paper converting, woodworking, canning), preservation (central vacuum systems for food packaging, chamber and carousel packaging machines), forming and shaping applications (vacuum-formed packaging, thermoformed plastic parts, EPS/EPP moulded parts) and clean operating environments (altitude simulation, laminating, house vacuum, electronics industry).

Variants of the GHS 3400 VSD+

The GHS 3400 VSD+ is listed in eight variants (part numbers 1950813827, 1950813828, 1950813831, 1950813832, 1950813835, 1950813836, 1950813845, 1950813846). They differ in the cooling (air or water), the oil (mineral oil or synthetic oil) and the approval: since March 2026 there have been CE versions for the European market (with synthetic oil, since April 2026 also as a Humid version for humid processes); the versions without CE marking are not intended for the EU. All are designed for 3Ph 380-460 V 50/60 Hz. Atlas Copco has announced a version with energy recovery; there is no part number for it yet.
