Atlas Copco GHS 1202 VSD+ – entry into the generation with a vertical drive train

The GHS 1202 VSD+ reaches a nominal displacement of 1172 m³/h and an ultimate pressure of 0.3 mbar(a). Rated motor power 18.5 kW, frequency range 20–140 Hz (600–4200 rpm at the motor shaft). All four sizes share the housing measuring 1460 × 1360 × 1660 mm (L × W × H); the operating instructions state 1083 kg for the GHS 1202 VSD+. Gas inlet and gas outlet DN 150 PN 10.

Smaller footprint

Thanks to the vertically arranged drive train, the pump manages with a footprint of 1360 × 1460 mm – according to Atlas Copco, over 10 % less than its predecessor. Inlet filter and control non-return valve are part of the standard equipment.

Applications

According to Atlas Copco, the GHS 1202–2002 VSD+ has been optimised for rough vacuum. The applications listed are forming and shaping applications (vacuum-formed packaging, thermoformed plastic parts), preservation (central vacuum systems for food packaging machines, chamber and carousel packaging machines), humid applications (clay extrusion, pipeline drying, vacuum cooling), clean operating environments (house vacuum, electronics industry, laminating) and holding, lifting, conveying and transport applications.

Variants of the GHS 1202 VSD+

The GHS 1202 VSD+ is listed in 9 variants. They differ in the following features:

• Humid version for high air humidity: considerably higher water vapour tolerance, gas outlet DN 150
• Version with energy recovery (ER): according to Atlas Copco around 80 % of the energy can be recovered as heat
• Version for high ambient temperatures (HAT) up to 50 °C
• Stainless steel version (SS)
• Oil: synthetic oil or food-grade oil (Foodgrade); operation via 7" touch HMI
• Versions with test report (Test Report)

All variants are designed for 3Ph 380-460 V 50/60 Hz. Not every size is available in every version; the list of variants is decisive.
