TRIVAC D 2,5 E – small, quiet, two-stage

The Leybold TRIVAC D 2,5 E pumps 2.7 m³/h at 50 Hz and 3.3 m³/h at 60 Hz (nominal pumping speed 3.2 m³/h) and reaches ≤ 2 × 10⁻³ mbar without gas ballast. Beyond the familiar quality and reliability of the B series, the TRIVAC E offers, according to Leybold, quieter operation, smaller dimensions and improved ease of servicing. Typical applications are mass and X-ray spectrometers, electron microscopes, leak detectors, sterilisers, freeze-drying systems, chemical and research laboratories, and use as a backing pump for high vacuum pump systems.

Design and function

The TRIVAC D 2,5 E works on the rotary vane principle; the oil injected into the pump chamber seals, lubricates and cools. The intake and exhaust ports are DN 16 ISO-KF; a dirt trap and a gas ballast device are part of the equipment. With gas ballast (setting 2), the ultimate total pressure is ≤ 3 × 10⁻² mbar; depending on the gas ballast setting, the water vapour tolerance is 10 / 20 / 30 mbar (setting 1 / 2 / 3). The pump is free of yellow metals, suitable for continuous operation at 1000 mbar, designed to protection class IP 54 and supplied with a separately enclosed oil filling (0.4 / 0.7 l). Motors are available for the European mains supply and as a single-phase world motor for 100 – 120 V and 200 – 240 V at 50/60 Hz.
