TRIVAC D 40 L – industrial size of the TRIVAC L

The Leybold TRIVAC D 40 L achieves 42 m³/h at 50 Hz and 50 m³/h at 60 Hz (nominal pumping speed 49 m³/h) and, without gas ballast, an ultimate total pressure of 3 × 10⁻³ mbar. As fields of application for the TRIVAC L, Leybold names, among others, charging systems for refrigerators, air conditioning systems, heat pumps and heat pipes, leak detection systems, industrial furnaces and heat treatment, freeze drying of food and pharmaceuticals, and thin-film coating.

Design and function

The TRIVAC L is Leybold's new generation of air-cooled, two-stage rotary vane vacuum pumps. The patented oil casing reduces heat dissipation to the surroundings, lowers the oil temperature and extends the oil service life; a sight glass allows the oil condition to be checked daily. According to Leybold, the gas ballast offers improved water vapour tolerance for humid processes: ultimate total pressure 6 × 10⁻³ mbar (position 1) / 2 × 10⁻² mbar (position 2), water vapour tolerance 35 mbar, water vapour capacity 1090 g/h (50 Hz) / 1308 g/h (60 Hz). The pump is designed to protection class IP 55, the inlet and outlet are DN 40 ISO-KF, and the outlet can be oriented vertically or horizontally. The standard filling is mineral oil LEYBONOL LVO 130 (3.1 / 4.1 l), the noise level is 58 / 60 dB(A) (without / with gas ballast position 1).

Motor options and systems

Leybold offers the large TRIVAC L models in the motor versions EU/CN (50 Hz regions), EU/US (wide-range version), JP/KR (Japan, Korea, Taiwan) and without motor. With the Roots adapter, the pump can be combined compactly with Roots pumps RUVAC WA(U), WS(U) and WH(U) to form pump systems.

The TRIVAC D 40 L is available from Ehrler & Beck in four variants (part numbers 1019040V00, 15190040V04CJL, 1019040V02, 1019040V03).
