TRIVAC D 40 BCS 3Ph 50/60 Hz, BCS-PFPE (for LEYBONOL LVO 400)

Part number: 11389 Series: TRIVAC series Manufacturer: Leybold Technology: Oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps

The Leybold TRIVAC D 40 BCS is the corrosion-protected version of the TRIVAC D 40 B: a two-stage, oil-sealed rotary vane vacuum pump with a pumping speed of 40 m³/h (50 Hz) and DN 40 ISO-KF connections for corrosive or aggressive process gases. Optionally with standard oil or as a PFPE version for LEYBONOL LVO 400. Ehrler & Beck offers the Leybold TRIVAC D 40 BCS in two variants, as well as the inert gas system IGS 40-65, oil filters and spare parts.

TRIVAC D 40 BCS – corrosion-protected version with 40 m³/h

The Leybold TRIVAC D 40 BCS brings the performance of the TRIVAC D 40 B (40 / 48 m³/h at 50 / 60 Hz, ultimate total pressure ≤ 2 × 10⁻³ mbar, DN 40 ISO-KF) to processes with corrosive or aggressive media. Leybold names semiconductor manufacturing and the chemical industry, research and production, and use as a backing pump in pump systems with Roots, diffusion, turbomolecular or cryo pumps; the Roots pump adapter for RUVAC WA(U)/WS(U) 251 and 501 also fits the BCS version.

Design and function

According to Leybold, the TRIVAC BCS is of corrosion-protected design: yellow metals have been dispensed with; grey cast iron, surface-treated aluminium, steel and stainless steel are used. Added to this are a double shaft seal, a built-in temperature switch for temperature monitoring, the built-in oil pump for continuous operation up to 1000 mbar and the oil-pressure-controlled anti-suckback valve. Together with the chemical oil filter with safety shut-off valve CFS 40-65, the exhaust filter with oil return ARS 40-65, the inert gas system IGS 40-65 and the limit switch system LSS 40-65, the pump forms the TRIVAC SYSTEM. Water vapour tolerance 40 mbar, water vapour capacity 1184 g/h (50 Hz) / 1420 g/h (60 Hz), oil filling 1.7 / 2.6 l, noise level 57 / 59 dB(A) (without / with gas ballast).

PFPE version

The BCS-PFPE variant is prepared for operation with perfluoropolyether LEYBONOL LVO 400 and is supplied without an oil filling. According to Leybold, PFPE is practically inert to chemical and oxidising influences, does not polymerise under high-energy radiation and is thermally highly stable (decomposition only above 290 °C). Leybold recommends always installing a chemical oil filter CF or CFS. Ultimate partial pressure without gas ballast: < 8 × 10⁻⁴ mbar.

Variants of the TRIVAC D 40 BCS

The TRIVAC D 40 BCS is available from Ehrler & Beck in two variants (part numbers 11388, 11389). The rated motor power is 2.2 kW (50 Hz), the weight ranges from 75.3 to 77.9 kg. Voltage, phase and all further data of the individual variants can be found in the variant selection and under Technical data.
