Leybold RUVAC WSU 2001 – Roots pump with canned motor and 2050 m³/h nominal pumping speed

The RUVAC WSU 2001 is the top model of the canned-motor series with pressure equalisation line: 2050 m³/h nominal pumping speed, start at atmospheric pressure and 7.5 kW motor power at 50 Hz. No other size offers as many versions – H versions with ACE damper, 100 Hz versions, pumps for horizontal pumping direction and a version with a water-cooled motor. The nominal pumping speed is 2050 m³/h at 50 Hz and 2460 m³/h at 60 Hz, the maximum effective pumping speed 1850 and 2100 m³/h respectively. The pump measures 1042 × 638 × 530 mm, weighs 465 kg and is connected via DN 160 ISO-K; the noise level is below 72 dB(A).

Typical applications

The RUVAC WS/WSU work as boosters in front of an oil-sealed or dry backing pump. Leybold recommends the canned-motor series for applications requiring a high pumping speed between 10⁻² and 10⁻⁴ mbar, for processes in which neither air may enter nor pumped medium escape, and for the extraction or transfer of high-purity gases. Typical applications of the RUVAC series are heat treatment and furnace construction, metallurgy, large-area coating, load-lock chambers and crystal pulling systems for the semiconductor and solar industries.

Variants of the RUVAC WSU 2001

The RUVAC WSU 2001 is available from Ehrler & Beck in 15 variants (part numbers 11753, 11753TE, 15096, 15096TE, 167026, 167026TE, 167056, 11853, 11853TE, 11853ATE, 167044, 167129V, 155066, 167042TE, 167052TE). All variants have the same canned motor with a motor power of 7.5 kW at 50 Hz to 8.5 kW at 60 Hz for mains voltages from 200 V to 460 V. They differ mainly in the oil filling: mineral oil LEYBONOL LVO 130, ester oil LEYBONOL LVO 210, PFPE LEYBONOL LVO 400. The H versions have an ACE damper in the pressure equalisation line. The 100 Hz versions are approved for frequency converter operation up to 6000 min⁻¹. Three variants are supplied for horizontal pumping direction. One variant has a water-cooled motor.
