Leybold RUVAC series

The Leybold RUVAC series comprises powerful Roots vacuum pumps for generating rough and medium vacuum. The dry-compressing WA/WAU, WS/WSU and WH/WHU ranges offer, depending on the version, air-cooled or water-cooled drives, integrated pressure equalisation systems and flexible speed control.

The RUVAC pumps stand out for their high pumping speeds, reliable and efficient operation and long maintenance intervals. The WA/WAU models offer a robust and maintenance-friendly design, while the WS/WSU ranges with frequency inverter and overload protection allow flexible adaptation to different operating conditions.

The WH/WHU series has a hermetically sealed motor without shaft seals and is therefore particularly suitable for demanding applications involving corrosive or toxic gases. Depending on the model, ATEX versions and various cooling and drive concepts are also available.

Operating principle

The Leybold RUVAC series works on the principle of Roots vacuum technology. Two rotors rotating in opposite directions move without contact inside the pump housing and convey the gas drawn in continuously from the inlet to the outlet. Thanks to the high pumping capacity of the rotors, the RUVAC can be used as a booster to significantly increase the pumping speed and performance of a vacuum system.

As the RUVAC operates without contact and oil-free in the pump chamber, it is particularly suitable for applications with high demands on process purity. In combination with a suitable backing pump, the technology enables the efficient generation of high and medium vacuum.

The robust design and the low-wear rotor principle enable reliable, durable and low-maintenance operation. Depending on the version, RUVAC pumps can also be adapted to different process requirements and vacuum ranges.
