Leybold RUVAC WHU 4400 – water-cooled Roots pump with 4400 m³/h nominal pumping speed

The RUVAC WHU 4400 is the short-cycle version of size 4400: the bypass line with control flap allows starting at atmospheric pressure, and the 18.5 kW motor copes with the high pressure differences during pump-down. Leybold recommends the WHU for pump-down times under two minutes and, for more than 100 000 cycles, additionally the gear chamber evacuation so that no oil is distributed. The nominal pumping speed is 4400 m³/h at 50 Hz and 5280 m³/h at 60 Hz, the maximum effective pumping speed 3300 and 3900 m³/h respectively. In the standard version the pump measures 1183 × 600 × 416 mm, weighs 620 kg and is connected via DN 250 ISO-K (inlet) and DN 160 ISO-K (outlet); the noise level is below 63 dB(A).

Typical applications

Leybold developed the WH series for applications with high demands on operating pressure, cycle time and system availability: display production, solar industry, furnace construction, industrial coating, research and space simulation. The pumps work as boosters in front of dry backing pumps of the DRYVAC, SCREWLINE and LEYVAC series or in front of oil-sealed SOGEVAC pumps.

Variants of the RUVAC WHU 4400

The RUVAC WHU 4400 is available from Ehrler & Beck in seven variants (part numbers 1227440V15, 1227440V25, 127440V15, 127440V25, 127440V01, 155158V, 155153). The motor power is 18.5 kW for all variants. Available oil fillings: ester oil LEYBONOL LVO 210, PFPE LEYBONOL LVO 400. Several part numbers describe the same version: Leybold has changed the numbers of the series twice, so the numbers from the catalogue, the current operating instructions and the web shop are listed together.
