The Edwards GXS160/1750 is a combination of a dry screw pump and a Roots booster in one unit, with a pumping speed of 1160 m³/h and an ultimate pressure below 1 × 10⁻³ mbar. Edwards GXS160/1750 – dry screw pump with integrated Roots booster

The GXS series combines its own screw technology with high-efficiency drives and advanced temperature control. The GXS160/1750 reaches 1160 m³/h and an ultimate pressure below 1 × 10⁻³ mbar; it can be operated continuously up to atmospheric pressure. The motor power is 7.5 kW pump + 4.5 kW booster.

Features

  • Shafts supported at both ends (no overhung bearings) for very low vibration and reliable starting even in harsh processes
  • High-efficiency motors with electronic drives for high torque in difficult processes
  • Good powder tolerance; extensive accessories such as inlet filters, automatic inlet isolation valves and silencers
  • Purge gas packages Light Duty, Medium Duty and Medium Duty+ depending on the process

Typical applications

Edwards names, among others, metallurgy (vacuum brazing, electron beam welding, nitriding, low-pressure carburising, sintering, metal injection moulding, investment casting), coating and chemical processes.

Versions of the Edwards GXS160/1750

The 11 versions differ in the mains voltage (LV 200–230 V, HV 380–460 V), the purge gas package (LD, MD, MD+) and the installation (outlet at the side on skids or at the rear on castors); in addition there is an ATEX version (category 3, T2). The gas load and the purge gas quantities for each package are given in the Edwards operating instructions. According to Edwards, the MD+ versions need the optional Pump Display Terminal (PDT) for operation.
