Leybold RUVAC WAU 1001 – Roots pump with 1000 m³/h nominal pumping speed

According to Leybold, the RUVAC WAU 1001 is the standard in load-lock chambers for architectural glass coating: together with a SOGEVAC it achieves particularly short pump-down times, because the integrated pressure equalisation line allows starting at atmospheric pressure. For size 1001, Leybold also offers the LEYTRONIC frequency converter. The nominal pumping speed is 1000 m³/h at 50 Hz and 1200 m³/h at 60 Hz, the maximum effective pumping speed 800 and 1000 m³/h respectively. The pump measures 1059 × 494 × 396 mm, weighs 254 kg and is connected via DN 100 ISO-K; the noise level is below 75 dB(A).

Typical applications

Roots pumps of the RUVAC series work as boosters in front of an oil-sealed or dry backing pump. Leybold lists heat treatment and furnace construction, metallurgy, large-area coating including architectural glass, load-lock chambers, high-speed food packaging, the evacuation of lamps, and crystal pulling systems for the semiconductor and solar industries as typical applications.

Variants of the RUVAC WAU 1001

The RUVAC WAU 1001 is available from Ehrler & Beck in six variants (part numbers 11741, 11741T, 11741TE, 11217, 11841, 11841TE). The motor power of all versions with motor is 4 kW at 50 and 60 Hz; the mains voltage ranges from 200–240 V to 380–460 V. The pump is also available without a motor for customer IEC motors. The H version has an ACE vibration absorber.
