Atlas Copco GVS 40 A – the largest GVS with single-phase motor

The GVS 40 A delivers 44 m³/h at 50 Hz and 53 m³/h at 60 Hz. Without gas ballast it reaches 0.5 mbar(a), with open gas ballast 1.5 mbar(a). The motor delivers 1.1 kW at 50 Hz and 1.5 kW at 60 Hz; single-phase and three-phase versions are available. With inlet filter the pump measures 563 × 283 × 451 mm and weighs 45 kg. Inlet and outlet: G 1 1/4" female thread.

Protection against backflow and oil suck-back

According to Atlas Copco, the non-return valve at the inlet protects the pump against reverse rotation when it is stopped without venting, and at the same time prevents oil from being sucked back to the point of use. At 1 l, the GVS 40 A manages with the smallest oil filling in the range.

Applications of the range

Atlas Copco sees the GVS A in industries such as packaging, wood processing, rubber, plastics, electronics, paper and printing, and material handling.

Variants of the GVS 40 A

The GVS 40 A is available from Ehrler & Beck in six variants (part numbers 8153315802, 8153315810, 8153315828, 8153316800, 3002615026, 3002615034). Atlas Copco distinguishes between European and world versions with different motors and voltage ranges; for North America there are versions with NPT connections and for 575 V 60 Hz. The motor power is 1.1 kW at 50 Hz and 1.5 kW at 60 Hz; the net mass according to the operating instructions is 45 kg.

Features of the GVS A range

  • Design: single-stage, oil-sealed, air-cooled; GVS 16 A to GVS 300 A with direct drive, GVS 630 A with belt drive
  • Simple installation: compact, space-saving design
  • Reliable: robust design and oil retention at any operating pressure
  • Continuous operation: at any inlet pressure between atmospheric pressure and ultimate pressure
  • Low maintenance: low wear thanks to optimally chosen shaft speeds; low pump temperatures extend the life of the oil
  • As standard: gas ballast valve, non-return valve at the inlet and bypass valve in the exhaust filter
  • Quiet: low noise and vibration over the entire pressure range
