Atlas Copco GVS 16 A – compact rotary vane pump for small vacuum tasks

The GVS 16 A delivers 16 m³/h at 50 Hz and 19 m³/h at 60 Hz and reaches 0.5 mbar(a) without gas ballast, 1.5 mbar(a) with open gas ballast. The motor delivers 0.75 kW (60 Hz: 0.9 kW). With inlet filter the pump measures 440 × 267 × 347 mm; according to the operating instructions the net mass is 25 kg and the oil filling 2 l. Connection is via a G 1/2" female thread.

Single-phase or three-phase

Atlas Copco offers the GVS 16 A with a single-phase motor and with a three-phase motor. For both motor types the operating instructions specify oil of viscosity class ISO VG 32. The mean sound pressure level at a distance of 1 m is 59 dB(A).

Applications of the range

For the GVS A, Atlas Copco lists, among others, packaging, wood processing, rubber, plastics, electronics, paper and printing, and material handling.

Variants of the GVS 16 A

The GVS 16 A is available from Ehrler & Beck in five variants (part numbers 8153315760, 8153315778, 8153316750, 8153316768, 3002615025). Atlas Copco distinguishes between European and world versions with different motors and voltage ranges; for North America there are versions with NPT connections and for 575 V 60 Hz. The motor power is 0.75 kW at 50 Hz and 0.9 kW at 60 Hz; the net mass according to the operating instructions is 25 kg.

Features of the GVS A range

  • Design: single-stage, oil-sealed, air-cooled; GVS 16 A to GVS 300 A with direct drive, GVS 630 A with belt drive
  • Simple installation: compact, space-saving design
  • Reliable: robust design and oil retention at any operating pressure
  • Continuous operation: at any inlet pressure between atmospheric pressure and ultimate pressure
  • Low maintenance: low wear thanks to optimally chosen shaft speeds; low pump temperatures extend the life of the oil
  • As standard: gas ballast valve, non-return valve at the inlet and bypass valve in the exhaust filter
  • Quiet: low noise and vibration over the entire pressure range
