NEO D 40 1Ph 180-264 V 50/60 Hz, LVO 700

The Leybold NEO D 40 is a two-stage, oil-sealed rotary vane vacuum pump with 40 m³/h effective pumping speed (50 Hz), an ultimate total pressure of < 8 × 10⁻³ mbar and 57 dB(A). With a Roots adapter it can be combined directly with a RUVAC. Ehrler & Beck supplies the NEO D 40 in seven variants with matching accessories, spare parts and service.

  • Pumping speed 40 m³/h 50 Hz 48 m³/h 60 Hz
  • Ultimate pressure 8 × 10-3 mbar
  • Rated motor power 1.3 kW 50 Hz 1.5 kW 60 Hz

Leybold NEO D 40 – the industrial size of the NEO D series

The NEO D 40 opens the large frame size of the series: nominal pumping speed 47 m³/h at 50 Hz and 56 m³/h at 60 Hz, effective 40 and 48 m³/h respectively, ultimate total pressure < 8 × 10⁻³ mbar without gas ballast and < 1 × 10⁻¹ mbar with gas ballast. The pump measures 632 × 356 × 320 mm, weighs 80 kg, is connected via DN 40 ISO-KF and holds 3 l of oil.

Robust design for furnace and plasma processes

For heat treatment furnaces and plasma processes, Leybold highlights the robust industrial design with oil filter and the choice of different oils depending on the process. Because the exhaust filter sits in the oil casing, there is no need for an external oil mist separator or the space it takes; the exhaust gas remains free of oil mist across the entire pressure range.

Can be combined directly with Roots pumps

According to Leybold, the Roots adapter available as an accessory allows the NEO D 40 to be coupled directly with a Roots pump to form a pumping station with up to 500 m³/h. The optional Pump Service Indicator monitors oil level, oil temperature and the condition of the exhaust filter – visually and electrically.

Typical applications

Heat treatment and plasma processes, backing pump in high vacuum pumping stations, analytics, research and development and sterilisation.

Variants of the NEO D 40

The NEO D 40 is available from Ehrler & Beck in seven variants (part numbers 970300V, 970300V4020, 970300V4100, 970300V4200, 970302V, 970302V4100, 970302V4200). The motor power ranges from 1.15 kW (3-phase world motor) to 1.3 kW (1-phase motor) at 50 Hz; the variants also differ in the factory oil filling (LEYBONOL LVO 700, LEYBONOL LVO 130) and in the gas ballast version. Pumping speed, ultimate pressure, dimensions and weight (80 kg) are the same for all variants.

Features of the NEO (S)D series

  • Integrated exhaust filter: exhaust gas free of oil mist without an external separator, pumping of vapours without condensation
  • Quiet operation: 52 dB(A) for the NEO SD 16, 54 dB(A) for NEO D 16 and D 25, 57 dB(A) for NEO D 40 and D 65
  • Low maintenance: according to Leybold, up to three years of maintenance-free operation in clean applications
  • Continuous operation at any inlet pressure: from atmospheric pressure down to ultimate pressure
  • Anti-suckback valve: closes hydraulically at standstill and prevents oil from flowing back
  • Energy-efficient: according to the manufacturer, typically 20 % lower energy consumption than comparable pumps
  • Options: external frequency converter, gas ballast versions, oil level, temperature and filter monitoring
