Atlas Copco GVS 120 VSD+ – vacuum on demand instead of continuous running at full speed

The GVS 120 VSD+ covers 84 to 117 m³/h and reaches 0.5 mbar(a) with the gas ballast closed. The 3.7 kW motor runs between 1350 and 1950 rpm. At 770 × 400 × 380 mm and a net mass of 112 kg it remains compact; it is connected via G 1 1/4" at the inlet and on the exhaust side.

Pressure setpoint instead of fixed speed

The VSD+ drive on top of the pump maintains the pressure setpoint that has been set and matches the speed to the demand. Atlas Copco describes the effect in the operating instructions as follows: vacuum generation is optimised, electricity consumption falls and with it the CO2 footprint. Inlet pressure, rotor speed, operating hours and maintenance intervals can be monitored via the VSD+ app.
