Atlas Copco GLS 500 – robust rotary piston pump for harsh processes

The GLS 500 delivers 442 m³/h (Pneurop 6602, displacement 510 m³/h) and reaches below 3.3 × 10⁻² mbar without gas ballast. Motor 11 kW (50 Hz), 7.5 kW (60 Hz), dimensions 1022 × 651 × 1380 mm (L × W × H), weight 850 kg, inlet ASA/ANSI 4", outlet ASA/ANSI 3". The pump is water-cooled; a water-saving regulator keeps the operating temperature constant.

Proven Stokes technology

With over 10,000 units sold in 80 years, the rotary piston pump from Stokes Vacuum – now part of the Atlas Copco Group – is a standard for reliability. The low speed of around 490 rpm, the automatic lubrication and the new valve design ensure long service lives and little downtime – important in the automotive and aviation industries, for example. In combination with a ZRS booster pump, the pump reaches, according to Atlas Copco, below 3.3 × 10⁻³ mbar (GLS 500 with ZRS 1200, 1200 m³/h, or ZRS 2600, 2600 m³/h: in each case < 3.3 × 10⁻³ mbar).

Atlas Copco lists the automotive and aerospace industries, chemical processing, heat treatment, leak detection, metallurgy, PET processing, pharmaceuticals, transformer drying and cable oil treatment, vacuum coating and vacuum melting.
