Operating principle

Rotary piston vacuum pumps are oil-sealed positive displacement pumps: an eccentrically mounted piston with slide valve rolls along the cylinder wall and conveys the gas from the inlet to the outlet in one working cycle. The design is robust, insensitive to dust and vapours and built for continuous industrial operation.

Features of the series

  • Automatic lubrication of bearings and sealing surfaces; oil solenoid valve (230/460 V coil) prevents flooding in the event of a power failure or loss of vacuum
  • Gas ballast as standard against condensation of water vapour
  • New valve design: valve maintenance and valve noise virtually eliminated
  • Low speed (around 500 rpm) for high reliability and low life cycle costs
  • Space-saving – according to Atlas Copco up to 50% less footprint; complete unit ready for connection
  • Robust construction of cast iron and ductile cast iron, few moving parts, large clearances
