Atlas Copco DZS 100 VSD+ – variable-speed claw pump in a compact format

According to the brochure, the DZS 100 VSD+ – listed by Atlas Copco as DZS 100 VSD+A – reaches a maximum volume flow of 105 m³/h and an ultimate pressure of 50 mbar(a) in continuous operation. The motor delivers 3 kW at maximum speed; the inverter runs the shaft at between 1200 and 4500 rpm (40–150 Hz). Atlas Copco states 900 × 401 × 565 mm (L × W × H) and a unit weight of 170 kg. Inlet and outlet are G 1 1/4" connections; NPT adapters are included in the scope of delivery of the VSD+A models.

Pressure setpoint instead of continuous running

The variable speed drive with pressure setpoint control matches the pump speed to the actual demand of the process. According to Atlas Copco, this allows higher productivity on a small footprint; the Smart-Kit prevents overheating during operation at ultimate vacuum.

Applications of the range

For the DZS claw pumps, Atlas Copco lists, among others, CNC milling and clamping, plastics processing (pneumatic conveying, extrusion), vacuum sewage systems, drying, sterilisation, pick-and-place and central vacuum systems.

Variants of the DZS 100 VSD+

The DZS 100 VSD+ is available from Ehrler & Beck in three variants (part numbers 3002615200, 3002615325, 3081500045): with IE3 motor, with IE4 motor and as an oxygen version (O2) with IE4 motor. All three are IEC and UL/cUL versions for 380 to 460 V at a mains frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.
