Features and benefits of the DB series
The series at a glance
The series comprises four designs: DBS (single-stage, one impeller), DBD (two-stage, one impeller), DBSt (single-stage, two impellers) and DBDt (two-stage, two impellers). Depending on the version, flow rates of up to 2,050 m³/h and vacuum levels down to -450 mbar are possible. The DB series is suitable for numerous industrial applications, including pneumatic conveying, packaging, printing, waste water treatment, surface drying, pick & place systems and vacuum tables.
With the DB series, Atlas Copco offers a proven range of side channel blowers developed for clean operation, reliable performance and low maintenance requirements. The robust design and the contact-free, oil-free side channel principle enable reliable use in numerous industrial applications. Thanks to its low-wear operation, the DB series offers an economical solution for vacuum and pressure processes that require clean, oil-free air.
Outstanding energy efficiency
The DB series is not only powerful but also remarkably energy-efficient across the entire range. All models are fitted as standard with IE3 motors that comply with the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC and meet the cURus standards for the US and Canadian markets.
Quiet operation
Thanks to a sophisticated blade design and integrated silencers on both the suction and the discharge side, the DB series operates with minimal noise, which makes for a more pleasant working environment.
Uncontaminated exhaust air
The DB series works on a contact-free, oil-free principle. This means that the exhaust air remains free of oil and dust contamination, which safeguards the integrity of the working environment.
Operating principle
The Atlas Copco DB series works on the side channel principle. An impeller with a large number of blades rotates inside the housing without contact. The blades accelerate the air drawn in, and centrifugal force pushes it outwards into the side channel; from there it flows back into the next blade chamber and is accelerated again. In this way the pressure rises step by step on the way from the inlet to the outlet.
As the impeller does not touch the housing, the DB series operates oil-free and with little wear. The conveyed medium does not come into contact with oil or other lubricants, and the exhaust air stays clean.
The blowers can be used for vacuum as well as for pressure. The robust design and the low-maintenance principle enable reliable continuous operation in numerous industrial applications.
