Atlas Copco DB series

The Atlas Copco DB series comprises robust, reliable and virtually maintenance-free side channel blowers for vacuum and pressure applications. Designed for use worldwide, the blowers stand out for their quiet operation, high efficiency and long service life.

The series comprises four designs: DBS (single-stage, one impeller), DBD (two-stage, one impeller), DBSt (single-stage, two impellers) and DBDt (two-stage, two impellers). Depending on the version, flow rates of up to 1,980 m³/h and vacuum levels down to -450 mbar are possible.

The DB series is suitable for numerous industrial applications, including pneumatic conveying, packaging, printing, waste water treatment, surface drying, pick & place systems and vacuum tables.

Operating principle

The Atlas Copco DB series works on the principle of dry-running piston vacuum technology. The pistons move inside the pump cylinders and, through their stroke movement, alternately generate negative pressure and compression. In the process, the air drawn in is compressed in the working chambers and is then expelled through the outlet.

As the DB series operates oil-free and dry-running, the conveyed medium does not come into contact with oil or other lubricants. This makes the technology particularly suitable for applications that require a clean and contamination-free vacuum.
