Leybold SCROLLVAC 3 plus and 3S plus – clean, compact and powerful

The SCROLLVAC 3 plus achieves a maximum pumping speed of 3 m³/h at 50 Hz and 3.5 m³/h at 60 Hz; the typical ultimate pressure is 0.1 mbar with the gas ballast closed and 0.15 mbar with one turn of gas ballast. At 158 × 231 × 224 mm and 7.8 kg (3S plus: 8 kg), it is, according to Leybold, a dry alternative to diaphragm pumps and oil-sealed rotary vane pumps. The inlet is DN 16 ISO-KF, the outlet a 1/8" BSP push-in fitting for 6x8 mm hose.

3S plus: protection in the event of a power failure

Both models have an outlet valve as standard that prevents a rapid pressure rise in the event of a power failure. The SCROLLVAC 3S plus also has a fast-closing solenoid inlet valve that isolates the pump from the system; after the power returns, a delay relay keeps the valve closed for 10 seconds until the pump has reached its speed. The exhaust silencer with filter is included in the scope of delivery of the 3S plus.

Flexible installation

The pump can be mounted horizontally or vertically; a mounting bracket and a base plate are available as accessories, and with the base plate it can also be retrofitted on an existing Leybold Turbocart. The built-in manual gas ballast handles water vapour while maintaining a good ultimate pressure. Maintenance essentially concerns the tip seals, which according to Leybold can be replaced by the user every few years.

Universities and research institutions, small system builders and OEMs, clean industrial applications, leak detectors and backing pump for TURBOVAC i turbomolecular pumps.

Variants of the SCROLLVAC 3 plus

The SCROLLVAC 3 plus is available from Ehrler & Beck in eight variants (part numbers 142030V330, 142030V320, 142030V310, 142030V300, 142030V430, 142030V420, 142030V410, 142030V400): four mains voltages from 100 V to 230 V, each as SCROLLVAC 3 plus and as SCROLLVAC 3S plus with inlet valve. The power consumption at ultimate pressure ranges from 0.18 kW (3 plus) to 0.21 kW (3S plus), the weight from 7.8 kg to 8 kg.
