Edwards Stokes 615 – Roots pump of the Stokes 6" series

The Stokes 6" boosters are robust mechanical boosters for use together with Stokes rotary piston pumps and other backing pumps. The Stokes 615 reaches 3685 m³/h at 3000 min⁻¹ and 4420 m³/h at 3600 min⁻¹; the permissible differential pressure is 506 mbar.

Features

  • Large shaft diameters, keyless ring-clamp gear system and dynamically balanced rotors
  • Mechanical seal (1MS) or process isolation with five seals (5MS, PIB) for applications with dust and particles
  • Without motor or with direct drive (1800 or 3600 min⁻¹), suitable for frequency converters
  • Horizontal or vertical gas flow

Typical applications

Edwards names the automotive industry, chemical processing, heat treatment, leak detection, metallurgy, PET processing, pharmaceuticals, thermal processes, transformer drying and cable oil treatment, vacuum coating and vacuum melting.

Versions

The variants differ in the shaft seal (1MS mechanical seal, 5MS process isolation), the gas flow direction (HF horizontal, VF vertical) and the drive (without motor or direct drive with energy-saving motor). The direct-drive versions have motors for 60 Hz; Edwards does not name a market for them.
