Features and benefits of the STOKES series
The series at a glance
With pumping speeds from 1,040 to 6,630 m³/h, they are among the most versatile Roots pumps for demanding industrial vacuum applications.
Depending on the process, the pumps can be supplied with direct drive or without motor and with vertical or horizontal gas flow. Variants with a bypass function allow reliable operation without additional pressure switches and thus offer particularly flexible system integration.
Thanks to their robust design, durable shaft seals and maintenance-friendly construction, the Stokes pumps offer a long service life, high process reliability and low maintenance requirements. They are suitable, among other things, for vacuum coating, heat treatment, metallurgy, leak detection, chemical processes, PET processing and vacuum melting.
With the STOKES series, Edwards offers a powerful range of Roots vacuum pumps developed to increase pumping speed and to speed up the evacuation of vacuum systems. The contact-free rotor technology enables efficient, low-wear gas transport and is particularly suitable for demanding industrial and scientific vacuum applications.
In combination with a suitable backing pump, the STOKES series can significantly increase the pump performance and evacuation speed of a vacuum system. The proven Roots principle enables reliable transport of the process gas and efficient support of the backing pump.
The robust design and the low-wear rotor principle ensure reliable, durable and low-maintenance operation. Depending on the model, the STOKES series offers different performance ranges and can thus be adapted flexibly to various vacuum systems and process requirements.
High pumping speed
The Edwards STOKES series was developed as a powerful Roots booster solution and enables a significant increase in pumping speed in vacuum systems.
Fast evacuation
The high pumping capacity of the rotors supports fast evacuation of vacuum chambers and can thus allow shorter process times.
Contact-free rotor principle
The counter-rotating rotors operate without direct contact with each other. This reduces mechanical wear and supports reliable continuous operation.
Operating principle
The Edwards STOKES Roots pump series works on the proven principle of Roots vacuum technology. Two rotors rotating in opposite directions move without contact inside the pump housing and transport the gas drawn in continuously from the inlet to the outlet. Used as a booster, the STOKES series helps to increase the performance of vacuum systems and enables faster evacuation.
The contact-free mode of operation reduces mechanical wear in the pump chamber. In combination with a suitable backing pump, Roots technology can provide a high pumping speed over a wide pressure range and is therefore suitable for demanding high and medium vacuum applications.
The robust design and the proven pump principle enable reliable, durable and low-maintenance operation. Depending on the model, different performance ranges are available, which means that the STOKES pumps can be integrated flexibly into various vacuum systems.
The STOKES series is suitable for industrial and scientific applications that call for high pumping speed, fast evacuation, reliable continuous operation and powerful high vacuum generation.
