Edwards RV12 FX – two-stage rotary vane vacuum pump with 12 m³/h

The Edwards RV12 FX combines the highest pumping speed of the series (12 m³/h at 50 Hz) with the PFPE preparation for oxygen-rich and chemically aggressive gases. With the inert oil XTRAGRADE ADVANCED PFPE 64 it reaches an ultimate pressure of 2 × 10⁻² mbar; the water vapour capacity of up to 290 g/h is retained. The PFPE oil (H11041121) is not supplied with the pump and must be ordered separately.

The RV series

The RV series is Edwards' standard series of small oil-sealed rotary vane pumps; more than 400,000 pumps have been built to date. A mode switch sets the pump either to high vacuum mode (best ultimate pressure) or to high throughput mode for continuous inlet pressures up to 500 mbar. The two-stage gas ballast (60 g/h or 220 g/h, on the RV12 290 g/h of water vapour) can be extended with an oil return kit and an oil mist filter to form a closed circuit without oil loss. An oil-controlled inlet valve opens smoothly and closes within 0.4 seconds after switch-off, so that no oil flows back into the system. Single-phase pumps have a wide-range motor with external voltage selector and integrated IEC socket, three-phase pumps are hard-wired; both motor variants meet efficiency class IE2. An O-ring-sealed sight glass, a large oil filler and maintenance with a single hexagon key keep the service effort low.

Variants of the Edwards RV12 FX

The RV12 FX is available from Ehrler & Beck in five variants (part numbers A65509903, A65509904, A65529905, A65529925, A65509906): three single-phase versions with a switchable wide-range motor (115/230 V or 100/200 V, factory-set to the voltage stated) and two three-phase versions for 200-230 V or 380-460 V, each 50/60 Hz. Single-phase pumps are connected via an IEC socket (mains cable as an accessory), three-phase pumps are hard-wired. All FX variants are supplied without oil; the PFPE oil must be ordered separately.
