Atlas Copco LRP 700 VSD+ – the entry into the intelligent liquid ring range

According to the brochure, the LRP 700 VSD+ reaches a volume flow of 740 m³/h with dry air and 910 m³/h with saturated air; the ultimate pressure is 25 mbar(a). The main motor delivers 18.5 kW. All three sizes have the same dimensions of 1950 × 810 × 1020 mm; the dry weight of the standard version is 820 kg. Inlet and outlet are flanged, DN 100 PN 10, and are located – like the controller and the main cable connection – on the top of the housing.

Two variable-speed drives

The first VSD drive maintains the vacuum setpoint and matches the pump speed to the demand. The second controls the water circulation pump and thus ensures an optimised water flow and stable vacuum levels over the entire operating range. A patented algorithm matches the operation of the water pump to the speed of the main motor.

Applications of the range

Atlas Copco recommends the LRP VSD+ series for humid, wet and harsh applications, including food processing (cheese, milk evaporation, bottling, fruit processing, poultry and meat processing), plastics extrusion, rubber vulcanisation and forming, drying, sterilisation, evaporation, the forming of expanded polystyrene, filtration and transport.

Variants of the LRP 700 VSD+

The LRP 700 VSD+ is available from Ehrler & Beck in ten variants (part numbers 1950813003, 1950813006, 1950813009, 1950813012, 1950813015, 1950813018, 1950813021, 1950813024, 1950813030, 1950813033). They differ in the routing of the operating liquid, the material and the enclosure protection:

• Total recovery with plate heat exchanger (standard): closed system; the operating liquid is cooled and reused. According to Atlas Copco up to 95 % water savings compared with conventional once-through systems
• Shell-and-tube heat exchanger (TS): total recovery for poor water quality, more resistant to contamination
• Once-through with proportional valve (OT-PV): the operating liquid is discharged directly; the proportional valve matches its inflow to the process
• Once-through with centrifugal pump (OT/CP): variable-speed centrifugal pump for the seal water supply, without additional pressure from an external piping system
• Stainless steel (SS): all wetted metal parts made of stainless steel 316 for applications with chemicals or corrosive media
• Weather-resistant (WR): for (partial) outdoor use, housing with ventilation slots, electrical connections to IP56
