Edwards EDC500 – dry claw vacuum pump with 500 m³/h

The Edwards EDC500 is a single-stage, dry high-performance claw pump with 500 m³/h at 50 Hz. The claws and rotor housing are coated with a high-temperature-resistant material that protects against corrosion and makes the pump compatible with many media. A built-in pressure control allows continuous operation at 200 mbar; the silencer with drain valve integrated in the base makes it tolerant of water vapour. In the 400 V version the pump measures 1250 × 586 × 845 mm; the weight is between 309 and 432 kg depending on the version (tolerance ±10 kg, including oil). The noise level is 76 dB(A) at 50 Hz and 78 dB(A) at 60 Hz.

Typical applications

For the nEDC and EDC claw pumps Edwards names, among others, central vacuum systems, plastics extrusion, woodworking, vacuum conveying, pick-and-place, drying and degassing, printing and paper processing, medical technology, milking and milk transport, thermoforming and waste extraction.

Variants of the Edwards EDC500

The EDC500 is available from Ehrler & Beck in five variants (part numbers A50873110, A50873120, A50873130, A50873100, A50873101). The motor power ranges from 9.2 kW (400 V, 50 Hz) to 11 kW (380 V, for frequency converter operation from 20 to 60 Hz). Two variants are supplied without motor with a free shaft end. The 460 V 60 Hz version (IEC-UL/cUL) has the same motor as the 380 V version but is not designed for frequency converter operation.
