Atlas Copco AWD 1600 S – two-stage for low inlet pressures

The AWD 1600 S delivers 1589 m³/h at 50 Hz and 1717 m³/h at 60 Hz (dry air) and reaches 33 mbar(a). It is supplied without motor; it is intended for 45 kW at 50 Hz or 100 hp at 60 Hz. Inlet and outlet DN 100, dimensions 1485 × 480 × 818 mm (L × W × H), weight 626 kg.

Direct replacement for SIHI LPH

The AWD S range (since 2025) replaces the earlier AWD 200 to 1680 and, according to Atlas Copco, is fully compatible in dimensions and performance with the SIHI LPH range – the AWD 1600 S fits in place of a SIHI LPH75340.

Applications

Two-stage for continuous operation below 200 mbar(a) – especially vacuum distillation, drying, degassing and evaporator duty.

Variants of the AWD 1600 S

Ehrler & Beck supplies the AWD 1600 S as a stainless steel fitted version (grey cast iron with stainless steel impeller), entirely in SS 304 or in SS 316L.

Features of the AWD range

  • Two-stage design – highest efficiency at the low-pressure end of the rough vacuum range
  • Works over the entire vacuum range down to 33 mbar(a)
  • Water as operating liquid: isothermal compression, insensitive to vapour, condensate, liquid carry-over and particles
  • Robust design with few housing joints, external bearings, mechanical seals
  • Materials selectable to suit the process medium
