SIDE CHANNEL BLOWERS
Side channel blowers generate low-pulsation blowing air through their internal “multi-stage” compression. The optimum impeller design with curved impeller blades guarantees optimum efficiency. The separation of the compression chambers on both sides of the impeller allows either single-stage, double-flow or two-stage, single-flow operation with only one impeller. Inlet filter and pressure safety valve are optionally integrated in the patented design of the silencers. For flexible adaptation to the available installation space, the length of the silencers can be varied.

Operating principle
Gas enters via the inlet channel (D). In some pumps, the impeller is mounted directly on the motor shaft for contact-free compression, which increases the service life. When the gas enters the side channel (A), it is accelerated in a spiral in the direction of rotation by the rotating impeller (B). The effect of centrifugal force ensures that the gas in the impeller blades (B) is accelerated radially outwards and the pressure is increased. With each re-entry into the impeller, kinetic energy is fed to the impeller again along the side channel. At the interrupter, the cross-section of the side channel narrows, the gas is stripped from the impeller and leaves the pump through the outlet opening (C). The highest degree of operational reliability and a long service life, even at high differential pressures, are ensured by arranging the bearings outside the compression chamber.
