SCREWLINE SP 250 3Ph 200/400 V 50 Hz, 210/460 V 60 Hz; purge gas unit, manual gas ballast

Part number: 115001 Series: SCREWLINE series Manufacturer: Leybold Technology: Screw vacuum pumps

Outdated product This model is no longer part of the manufacturer's current range.

Current alternative: DRYVAC DV 300

The Leybold SCREWLINE SP 250 is a dry-compressing, air-cooled screw vacuum pump with a pumping speed of 270 m³/h at 50 Hz (330 m³/h at 60 Hz) and an ultimate pressure of ≤ 0.01 mbar. The model is no longer part of the current Leybold range. The five order numbers – standard, with castors, two ATEX versions and one version for oxygen (O2) – are listed here for reference. For pumps in service, Ehrler & Beck supports you with service and with the selection of a current model.

  • Rated motor power 7.3 kW 50 Hz 9.2 kW 60 Hz

Leybold SCREWLINE SP 250 – outdated model

The SCREWLINE SP 250 is no longer part of the current Leybold range: in the SCREWLINE series Leybold now lists the SP 630 and the SP 630 F; Leybold names no direct successor to the SP 250 in its current documents. In the Ehrler & Beck range, the water-cooled DRYVAC DV 300 comes closest to the SP 250 in pumping speed and ultimate pressure. The SCREWLINE SP 250 reaches an effective pumping speed of 270 m³/h at 50 Hz and 330 m³/h at 60 Hz and an ultimate pressure of ≤ 0.01 mbar (60 Hz: ≤ 0.005 mbar). The nominal power is 7.3 kW at 50 Hz and 9.2 kW at 60 Hz; at ultimate pressure the pump draws 5.9 and 7.2 kW respectively. It is air-cooled, measures 1350 × 530 × 880 mm (W × D × H) and weighs approx. 450 kg. The noise level is ≤ 68 dB(A) at 50 Hz and ≤ 72 dB(A) at 60 Hz, measured with connected exhaust line at ultimate pressure.

Design

Two counter-rotating screw rotors that run without contact convey the gas on a direct path from the inlet to the outlet; according to Leybold this makes the pump insensitive to foreign materials. The rotors have a cantilevered bearing arrangement: there is no bearing on the intake side, so no lubricant from the bearings can enter the process and no aggressive process medium can attack the bearings. The pump housing can be removed without dismantling the bearings – the surfaces in contact with the medium can be cleaned on site. According to Leybold, a temperature of at most 100 °C is reached inside the pump, which avoids deposits of temperature-sensitive substances. The two non-contacting shaft seals are practically wear-free; all pumps have a purge gas unit and the SP-GUARD monitoring system.

Applications

Leybold names, among others, food processing, vacuum coating, lamination, loadlock chambers, metallurgy and furnaces, crystal pulling, degassing, vacuum drying, freeze drying, packaging, chemistry and pharmaceuticals, space simulation and use as a backing pump for high vacuum systems. The data are taken from the Leybold Full Line Catalog (Edition 2022), part “Dry Compressing Vacuum Pumps”.
