Atlas Copco AWC 30 – liquid ring pump for harsh, humid processes

The AWC 30 delivers 27 m³/h at 50 Hz and 32 m³/h at 60 Hz (saturated air) and reaches 33 mbar(a). The flat port plate with variable port opening keeps the delivery capacity stable over the whole rough vacuum range and saves operating water. Inlet and outlet Rc 1, operating water connection Rp 3/8, dimensions 476 × 190 × 222 mm (L × W × H), weight 31 kg.

Why liquid ring?

In the pump an eccentrically mounted impeller rotates a ring of water, which seals the chambers and compresses the gas. In the process, the water absorbs the heat of compression – vapour, condensate, entrained liquid and particles hardly disturb operation.

Applications of the range

Atlas Copco lists plastics extrusion, expanded polystyrene (EPS), filtration, degassing, the evisceration of meat and poultry, and drying.

Variants of the AWC 30

Ehrler & Beck supplies the AWC 30 with a dual-frequency motor for 50 and 60 Hz (versions for Europe/China and for Korea/Japan) – in each case in grey cast iron with stainless steel impeller, entirely in stainless steel SS 304 or in SS 316L.
