Operating principle
Scroll vacuum pumps compress the gas between two interleaved scrolls: one scroll is fixed, the other orbits, so that the gas is conveyed from the outside to the inside towards the outlet in chambers that become smaller and smaller. The pump chamber is oil-free, and the pumps run quietly and with low vibration.
The technology page shows the operating principle with an interactive drawing: Scroll vacuum pumps.
Features of the series
- 100% oil-free
- Operation possible at all pressures; simple maintenance
- Inlet non-return valve and integrated gas ballast
- Housing made entirely of aluminium for corrosion resistance
- Long service intervals: up to 8000 hours or 2 years
- Two blow-off valves reduce energy consumption compared with oil-sealed rotary vane pumps
Manufacturer's data as given in the product descriptions of the individual models.
