Operating principle
The Elmo Rietschle L series works on the proven liquid ring principle. An impeller mounted eccentrically in the housing sets the operating liquid – usually water – in rotation, so that a rotating liquid ring forms against the housing wall. Between the impeller blades and the ring, chambers are formed that grow and shrink with every revolution: the gas is drawn in, compressed and discharged together with part of the liquid.
The liquid ring seals the chambers and absorbs the heat of compression. No metal parts touch each other in the compression chamber, and no oil is needed there. This makes the technology particularly suitable for wet gases, vapours and processes carrying liquid.
The robust design and the proven principle ensure reliable and long-lasting operation with a manageable maintenance effort. Depending on the model and version, the pumps can be adapted to different industrial process requirements.
The L series is suitable for numerous industrial applications that call for reliable vacuum generation, high operational reliability and economical continuous operation.
