Technology and features
Operating principle
Roots vacuum pumps, also known as vacuum boosters, belong to the dry-running vacuum pumps. Together with a backing pump they cover a wide range of applications in which high pumping speeds are required. The two Roots rotors operate entirely without contact and without sealing liquid in the pump chamber; on most models only the timing gears and bearings are oil-lubricated.

- Dynamically balanced rotors and precision-ground gears for smooth, low-vibration running
- Motors to EN 60034, energy-efficient
- Patented hydrokinetic fluid drive between motor and pump: start together with the backing pump, evacuation times up to 50% shorter according to Atlas Copco
- Robust and corrosion-resistant, low maintenance effort
- Oil-free pumping mechanism with proven shaft seal – no oil in the pump chamber
