ROOTS BLOWERS
These compact Roots blowers, also known as boosters, belong to the group of dry-running positive displacement pumps. This means that there is no oil or grease in the compression chamber. Only the gears and bearings, which are separated from the pumping chamber, are oil-lubricated. Rotary lobe blowers (Roots blowers): every compressor can be adapted to the needs of each customer.

Operating principle
Both two-lobe and three-lobe blowers work on the same principle. The operating principle of Roots vacuum pumps or vacuum boosters is very similar to that of the rotary vane pump. Air flows through the inlet (A) into the housing, into the conveying cell formed by the two rotary lobes (C,D). The cell is then separated from the inlet by the following lobe tip (F). The air in the cell (E) is now carried onwards without reduction in volume until it reaches the outlet (B), from where air at a higher absolute pressure is pushed from the pressure side into the arriving cell and is then expelled. Some models are equipped with an automatic bypass valve (G), which limits the pressure difference between inlet and outlet.
