RADIAL COMPRESSORS
Radial fans, also known as radial compressors, are a reliable, compact and safe technology in the vacuum and pressure range. They are available in single-stage and multi-stage versions. Typical areas of application are packaging and paper processing.

Operating principle
Air is drawn in under vacuum through the inlet opening (A) as the impeller (E), rotating at high speed, forces the air in the blade channels (F) outwards by centrifugal force, and the air leaves at the edge of the impeller (C). The air flowing in through the inlet opening is deflected from an axial to a radial direction as it enters the blade channels (F); it then flows outwards into the volute casing (D) because of the high rotational speed. In this process, the velocity of the air is reduced before it passes through the outlet opening (B), and part of the kinetic energy is converted into pressure energy. As a result of this process, the pump runs vibration-free with low noise. Pump housings and impellers are made of solid cast light alloy.
