What remote diagnostics can do
Many faults can be identified and rectified without a technician travelling to site. Typical results:
- Interpretation of alarms and error codes with indications of the cause
- Verification of setpoints, operating ranges and control parameters
- Trend analysis of vacuum level, volume flow, current draw, temperature, vibration and operating hours (where instrumented)
- Advice on lubrication, filters and wearing parts based on usage data
- Parts planning and preparation of corrective maintenance
- Escalation to an on-site visit when remote recovery is not possible
Connected. Diagnosed. Solved.
How a remote session works
Remote sessions start via secure access approved by the customer. Depending on the installation, the diagnoses are based on live values, exported data logs, screenshots from the HMI/PLC, recordings and sound files or guided checks by the personnel on site. After the evaluation, Ehrler & Beck provides clear corrective recommendations and, where required, coordinates the transition to maintenance, repair or spare parts delivery.
Every case ends with a concise diagnostic summary that documents the observations, probable causes, recommended actions and – where applicable – a prioritised parts list.
Data, signals and result documents
Remote diagnostics typically evaluates: vacuum level, throughput/flow, temperature, vibration, current/energy consumption, cycle hours and alarm histories. Where systems support it, storage duration and sampling rates are reviewed in order to improve future transparency and predictive maintenance. The results comprise: a written summary, where appropriate suggestions for parameter adjustments (if approved) and a recommended monitoring plan.
Supported brands and technologies
We cover oil-lubricated and dry-running rotary vane, screw, claw, Roots and liquid ring units from leading manufacturers, including Atlas Copco, Becker, Busch, Edwards, Elmo Rietschle, Gardner Denver, Leybold, Pfeiffer Vacuum and Elektror. Support is also possible for older models, provided that documentation is available.
Remote support via secure access approved by the customer – fast root-cause analysis, clear recommendations for action and documented handover to maintenance or an on-site visit.
Integrated vacuum systems
For central supplies, multi-pump networks and process-oriented automation, system-wide diagnostics and optimisation are carried out in cooperation with Eugen Theis Vakuum (ETV). This coordination ensures that component findings are translated into stable performance across the entire vacuum network.
Availability & coverage
Remote diagnostics is available in the EU and internationally by agreement. We offer on-site visits within the EU. Remote sessions take place via secure access authorised by the customer (e.g. VPN or approved tools) and are coordinated directly with the named contact person – to minimise downtime with full traceability.
