The Edwards HV8000 high vacuum Roots pumps were developed for reliable continuous operation in demanding and aggressive environments. With a nominal pumping speed of up to 7,200 m³/h at 50 Hz, they are particularly suitable for large industrial and chemical vacuum applications.
The HV8000 offers stable process performance over a wide pressure range and is designed for continuous operation. A water-cooled mechanical shaft seal, large shaft diameters and robust helical gears ensure high reliability and a long service life.
The pumps can be adapted flexibly to different system concepts and are available with a standard motor or without motor, with horizontal or vertical gas flow and optionally with VFD, inert gas purge, temperature monitoring and water-cooled exhaust aftercooler.
Standard operating conditions and performance
Operating principle
The Edwards HV series is based on proven Roots vacuum technology and was developed to boost the performance of demanding vacuum systems. Two rotors rotating in opposite directions operate without contact in the pump housing and transport the gas drawn in efficiently from the inlet to the outlet. This allows the HV series to be used as a booster to significantly increase pumping speed and evacuation speed.
In conjunction with a suitable backing pump, the HV series enables efficient generation of high and medium vacuum. The contact-free mode of operation reduces mechanical wear and supports reliable gas transport under demanding operating conditions.
The robust design and the proven Roots principle ensure reliable, durable and low-maintenance operation. Depending on the version, different performance levels are available, so that the pumps can be integrated flexibly into various vacuum systems.
The HV series is suitable for industrial and scientific applications that call for high pumping speed, fast evacuation, reliable continuous operation and powerful vacuum support.
