About the series

Features and benefits of the EH series

The series at a glance

The Edwards EH Roots vacuum pumps are based on the proven Roots principle and were developed for applications that require high pumping speeds in the pressure range from 0.01 to 10 mbar. They are used as booster pumps in combination with a suitable backing pump and allow considerably shorter pump-down times.

The patented hydrokinetic drive permits operation at higher inlet pressures and automatically adapts the pump speed to the operating conditions. This prevents overloading and overheating and at the same time improves reliability, energy efficiency and service life.

The EH series is particularly suitable for demanding applications such as vacuum metallurgy, coating, vacuum packaging, freeze drying, vacuum distillation and steel degassing. With its robust design and low installation and maintenance effort, it offers a reliable solution for industrial vacuum systems.

With the EH series, Edwards offers a powerful range of Roots vacuum pumps developed specifically to increase pumping speed and to speed up the evacuation of vacuum systems. The contact-free rotors enable efficient, low-wear gas transport and make the pumps particularly suitable for demanding high and medium vacuum applications.

In combination with a suitable backing pump, the EH series can significantly increase the overall performance and evacuation speed of a vacuum system. The contact-free pumping mechanism supports clean and reliable operation.

The robust construction and the proven Roots principle ensure high operational reliability, a long service life and low maintenance requirements. The EH series thus offers a reliable solution for industrial and scientific vacuum systems with high demands on pumping speed and evacuation speed.

High pumping speed

The Edwards EH series offers high pumping capacities and was developed specifically as a booster for vacuum systems. In combination with a backing pump, the evacuation speed can be increased significantly.

For high and medium vacuum

Roots technology enables efficient vacuum generation in the high and medium vacuum ranges and is suitable for demanding industrial and scientific processes.

Contact-free rotor principle

The two rotors operate without direct contact with each other. This reduces mechanical wear in the pump chamber and supports reliable continuous operation.

Operating principle

The Edwards EH Roots pump series works on the proven principle of Roots vacuum technology. Two rotors rotating in opposite directions move without contact in the pump housing and convey the gas drawn in continuously from the inlet to the outlet. As a booster in conjunction with a suitable backing pump, the EH series increases the pumping speed and supports considerably faster evacuation of vacuum systems.

Thanks to the contact-free rotor principle, the pump chamber operates without direct mechanical contact between the rotors. This allows low-wear operation and supports reliable and clean gas transport – especially in demanding high and medium vacuum applications.

The robust design and the powerful Roots technology make the EH series a reliable and durable solution for industrial and scientific vacuum systems. Depending on the model, different pumping speeds are available, so that the pumps can be adapted to various system and process requirements.

The EH Roots pump series is suitable for applications that require high pumping speed, fast evacuation, reliable continuous operation and efficient generation of high and medium vacuum.
