Leybold NEO D 16 – compact backing pump for laboratory, analytics and industry

The NEO D 16 is the smallest air-cooled size in the NEO D series. Its nominal pumping speed is 19 m³/h at 50 Hz and 23 m³/h at 60 Hz, its effective pumping speed 16 and 19 m³/h respectively. Without gas ballast it reaches an ultimate total pressure of < 8 × 10⁻³ mbar, with gas ballast < 1 × 10⁻¹ mbar. At 516 × 288 × 294 mm, 48 kg and with DN 25 ISO-KF connections, it fits into analytical instruments, glove boxes and pumping stations. Unlike many other pumps, the NEO D, according to Leybold, operates continuously at any inlet pressure from rough to medium vacuum; it delivers its full pumping speed between 0.01 and 1 mbar.

Clean, quiet, low-maintenance

The exhaust filter integrated in the oil casing keeps the exhaust gas free of oil mist and works at pump temperature, so vapours are pumped without condensation. For clean applications, Leybold specifies up to three years of maintenance-free operation – made possible by a specially developed shaft seal and long-life oils. The noise level is 54 dB(A).

Typical applications

Analytics and glove boxes, research and development (fore vacuum for turbomolecular pumps), heat treatment and plasma processes, and sterilisation. For a 1-phase supply with speed control, Leybold offers an external frequency converter as an accessory.

Variants of the NEO D 16

The NEO D 16 is available from Ehrler & Beck in eleven variants (part numbers 970100V, 970100V4020, 970100V4050, 970100V4100, 970100V4200, 970102V, 970102V4020, 970102V4100, 970102V4200, 970103V, 970103V4050). The motor power ranges from 0.55 kW (3-phase world motor) to 0.75 kW (1-phase motor) at 50 Hz; the variants also differ in the factory oil filling (LEYBONOL LVO 700, LEYBONOL LVO 120, LEYBONOL LVO 140) and in the gas ballast version. Pumping speed, ultimate pressure, dimensions and weight (48 kg) are the same for all variants.
