Leybold RUVAC WHU 2500 – water-cooled Roots pump with 2500 m³/h nominal pumping speed

The RUVAC WHU 2500 has the patented bypass line with control flap of the WHU series. It starts together with the backing pump at atmospheric pressure and delivers additional pumping speed even at high pressures – according to Leybold faster than a frequency converter could, because the pump is controlled mechanically at full speed. It is designed for short-cycle operation of under two minutes, for example on load-lock chambers; the PFPE version has integrated gear chamber evacuation. The nominal pumping speed is 2500 m³/h at 50 Hz and 3000 m³/h at 60 Hz, the maximum effective pumping speed 2200 and 2500 m³/h respectively. In the standard version the pump measures 1015 × 508 × 354 mm, weighs 410 kg and is connected via DN 250 ISO-K (inlet) and DN 100 ISO-K (outlet); the noise level is below 63 dB(A).

Typical applications

Leybold developed the WH series for applications with high demands on operating pressure, cycle time and system availability: display production, solar industry, furnace construction, industrial coating, research and space simulation. The pumps work as boosters in front of dry backing pumps of the DRYVAC, SCREWLINE and LEYVAC series or in front of oil-sealed SOGEVAC pumps.

Variants of the RUVAC WHU 2500

The RUVAC WHU 2500 is available from Ehrler & Beck in ten variants (part numbers 155280V, 155281V, 155284V, 155285V, 155288V, 155290V, 1227250V80, 1227250V81, 1227250V84, 1227250V88). The motor power ranges from 6.2 kW to 7.4 kW. Available oil fillings: PFPE LEYBONOL LVO 410, ester oil LEYBONOL LVO 210. All variants are designed for direct mains operation and differ in mains voltage (400 V or 200 V) and in the position of the outlet flange (gear side or motor side).
