Ehrler & Beck is proud to present a selection of specialised claw vacuum pumps designed specifically for industrial applications that require a constant vacuum, high pumping speed and absolutely oil-free compression. Compared with traditional rotary piston pumps, these pumps offer considerable energy savings thanks to their contact-free rotor design and operation without oil or other operating fluids. For applications that require increased safety, we also offer explosion-proof models with a minimised risk of leakage.

Operating principle of claw vacuum pumps
Claw vacuum pumps are based on a static compression system. Inside the compressor housing, two claw-shaped rotors rotate in opposite directions without contact and with very narrow gaps. This special rotor shape enables the pumped medium to be drawn in, compressed and discharged. The minimal clearance between the rotors and the housing optimises the internal sealing, so that no lubricants or operating fluids are required in the compression chamber.
The claw pumps are driven via a direct flange-mounted design, and a synchronising gearbox ensures precise rotor timing. The principle of internal compression in the claw-shaped design allows the gas to be pre-compressed inside the compression chamber and then discharged. Compared with traditional concepts without internal compression, this process offers considerable energy savings and high efficiency.
Some claw vacuum pumps feature a corrosion-resistant pump chamber and stainless steel claws, which makes them particularly robust, especially for demanding applications in which particles and gaseous contaminants are handled. These claw pumps are easy to operate and easy to clean on site. They also have efficient air cooling, which ensures trouble-free and cost-effective operation.
The innovative design of some claw pump models sets a new benchmark in the market. The simplicity, robustness, efficiency and contaminant-handling capability of these pumps make them the smart choice for your application. Features such as the dry (oil-free) pump chamber, low noise levels, efficient motors and the compact design ensure efficiency and a long service life of reliable operation. Some machines have fantastic design features such as corrosion-resistant stainless steel claws.
It should be noted that this description does not take into account each manufacturer’s approach to the technology, but is a general description that attempts to cover the basic operating principle.
