ROTARY LOBE BLOWERS

These compact Roots blowers, also know as boosters, belong to the group of dry running positive displacement pumps. This means that there is no need for oil or grease in the compression chamber. Only gear box and bearing, that are separated from the pumping chamber are oil lubricated. Rotary lobe compressors (roots blowers) have been design to work in combination with backing pump. Each compressors i modifiable and can be adjusted to the processes needed for each customer.

Operating Principle

Bot two and three lobe blowers operate on the same principle. The working principle of roots vacuum pumps or vacuum boosters is similar to the rotary vane pumps. Through the inlet (A) air enters into a conveying cell formed by the two rolling pistons (C, D) in the housing. The cell is then separated from the inlet by the following piston head (F). The air in the cell (E) is conveyed without reduction until it reaches the outlet (B), where air with a higher absolute pressure flows from the pressure chamber into the following cell, and must then be discharged. Some models are equipped with an automatic bypass valve (G) that limits the pressure differential between inlet and outlet.
